Pattaya’s Elephant Village is located a short distance from the Siam Country Club and the popular Panarak fishing park. It is a popular attraction with visitors who love to watch daily elephant training sessions where the mahouts teach these magnificent beasts the concept of loyalty and a variety of new skills. The original idea of this village - after its opening in 1973 - was to provide a sanctuary for former working elephants. These elephants, through reasons of injury or deteriorating health, can no longer be used as a part of the backbone of heavy work in the jungles of Thailand. Also because of their diminishing habitat in the Kingdom, it is now longer possible to return them to the wild. Visitors can also feed the elephants and enjoy a combination of eco-tourism trips and trekking which are also offered here as well a wonderful show (from 14:30 hrs  - 16;00 hrs).
